We are proud to announce the conclusion of the Norfolk Good Neighbour Network project, which has been an inspiring and impactful initiative across the county.
Since its inception, the Norfolk Good Neighbour Network has empowered local communities by encouraging and supporting the creation of and support for local Good Neighbour Schemes. These schemes have built strong bonds within communities, offering practical help and companionship to residents, particularly those who are elderly, isolated, or vulnerable.
Throughout the project, we have seen efforts from volunteers and coordinators who have dedicated their time and energy to help their community and neighbours in need. From food shopping and prescription collections to friendly chats and check-ins, these schemes have made a significant difference in people’s lives.
Although the project has now reached its conclusion, many of the local schemes will still be running, sustained by the commitment of community volunteers. Their work will ensure that Norfolk remains a place where neighbours look out for one another and provide help when it’s needed most.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers, and partners who made this project a success.
PLEASE NOTE: Whilst the Good Neighbour Network no longer has a paid coordinator, we are still happy to maintain the strong links we have developed with Good Neighbour Schemes and other Mutual Aid groups in communities across Norfolk. We are still accepting enquiries and requests for help, and will continue to provide support and training for any new and existing schemes. (However, it may take longer than usual for us to get back to you).
If you wish to know more about setting up a scheme in your area, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
